What a busy summer! I can't believe it is almost at and end school is right around the corner. I feel like I still haven't accomplished half of my summer to do list. While I wish I could make it last a little longer, I am still making the most of the time I have left. Since summer began, I started building my business as well as I could. I may not have many Etsy sales to prove it, but I have two more than I ever had so I consider that an improvement! I have learned an awful lot about SEO and business branding, but the most important task I have learned is how to be a successful freelancer. I started out on Fiverr late May. In the last two months, I have sold enough gigs and satisfied enough customers to become a first level seller! I am in the midst of expanding my gigs and services in hopes to increasing my income. If I keep going at the rate I am going, I will be able to make my freelancing jobs my main source of income while I am in college!
I never would have thought that freelancing like this could be a success, but I am living proof that it can work. If you've ever considered doing your own freelance work, here are a few reasons why you should:
Freelancing has been a major part of my income this summer. I have been able to do more than I anticipated thanks to the money I have made writing and creating images on Fiverr. As I go back to school, I am thankful that I have a way to make money in between classes as my schedule allows. I highly recommend freelancing and Fiverr to anyone who has an interest in it. Even if marketing this type of work is not your strong suit, that's OK. There are plenty of resources out there to help you. You can even hire fellow Fiverr members to get you started with gig images and item descriptions. Freelancing is a wonderful experience and can give you a confidence you didn't know you had.
