North Carolina is home to many hidden gems. From the towering mountains of the Blue Ridge Parkway to the glittering crystal coast, there is tons to see and do- you just have to know where to look in North Carolina.
One of my favorite things to do when I travel is check out the local farmers market. Local farmers markets are a great way to give you a glimpse into what it’s like to live in the area you are staying. You can spend the morning or afternoon eating and shopping like a local. What better way to get to know where you are staying than from the people who live there via the local farmers market?

After 22 years of living in North Carolina, I went to the Raleigh Farmers Market for the first time last week. I can’t believe I had never been before! As an avid market visitor, you would think that I would be all over this huge state farmers market. I guess I have just gotten caught up in selling at local markets and forgot to explore more.
I took a week off from blogging last week to enjoy every last bit of my birthweek that I could! I turned 22 last Monday and for my birthday, my parents took me and Zack to the Outer Banks. I was dying to get out of town for a little while and we only live two and half hours away from the beach so we thought "why not?" We loaded up the car took off for a one night trip. While the water was freezing and way toO cold to even dip a toe in, I enjoyed getting some fresh air and just a tiny bit of sunshine.
Keep reading to see the highlights (meaning food and drinks) of our trip!
To celebrate the beginning of the newtravel section of my blog, I've been thinking that my first post should be about somewhere I love to travel and by what better way than sharing our engagement pictures?!
Zack and I took our engagement pictures earlier last month in the Mountains of North Carolina. It was where he proposed and one of our favorite travel destinations so it just seemed like the perfect fit for our engagement pictures! |
