As the nights get colder, I find myself wrapping up in more and more blankets. I wish I had a fireplace in my room that I could curl up next to and fall asleep to the crackling embers but, alas, my house was not built that way. So, I have found a way to make do with this DIY indoor bonfire.
I started by collecting medium to large sticks and rocks. It's as fun as it sounds, folks. After I had enough sticks and rocks, I brought them in and place the rocks in a circle. Then I dropped a strand of white twinkle Christmas lights (this is what gives it the flicker) and started piling on the sticks into the classic bonfire look. I purposely looked for sticks with a "V" end to them to help keep them upright. While stacking the sticks upright, I pulled the lights up into the sticks so the light would be more dispersed throughout the bonfire. And, voila! I made a bonfire.,, if only it had heat...
