There's a chill in the air, the leaves have changed, and everywhere I look, I see PUMPKINS! That must mean Halloween is near. This year, to celebrate my favorite holiday, I whipped up this Jack O'Lantern beanie that I am sharing with you today!

I love everything about Halloween- the weather, the candy, the costumes. But most importantly, I love getting to carve pumpkins and all things spooky. So I thought "why not take it a step further and put a pumpkin on my head?"

That's how this Jack O'Lantern beanie was born!

This may be one of my favorite beanies yet. It uses red heart yearn, an H hook, a J hook, the same brim method from my most popular beanie patterns on Etsy, and the Waistcoat Stitch, also known as the Knit Stitch. This stitch can seem a bit complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's super simple! I have included a video tutorial on my Instagram about how to do the Waistcoat Stitch below!

I never fail to let fall markets creep up on me. No matter how far in advance I plan, there is always something left waiting to do at the last minute. And by the last minute, I definitely mean 5 minutes before I'm supposed to be walking out of the door...

For me this year, it was forgetting to make some cardstock inserts to go inside of my Fall Cup Cozies. Thankfully, this turned out of be one of my easier tasks thanks to Canva Pro.

To make these branded tags, all I did was find the perfect outline of a to-go coffee cup, size it up using the toggled rulers and guides, and insert all of my branding that was already preserved in my Canva Pro account. After that, I just loaded up my favorite cardstock and hit print. It was that easy!

With Canva Pro, you don't even have to know what you're doing with graphic design to create beautiful designs! You get access to thousands of professional images, elements, and fonts, plus the ability to upload your own fonts and save your own brand color palattes!

(Canva Pro has been the most helpful tool I have ever used when it comes to marketing, online or in print. I use them for everything from the graphics on this blog post to Etsy listings to market displays. I can't recommend them enough!)

I mean it, if you've ever loved Twilight at any point in your life and you've never checked out the new life it has gotten on TikTok, you need to drop everything you're doing and head over there right now. Well, after you finish reading this blog post, that is.

Truth be told, I never left my Twilight phase as much as I hate to admit it. And now that I'm seeing everyone else's Twilight themed arts and crafts, especially surrounding all the famous Twlight quotes out there, I just had to join in.

For this project, I went with  one of the more famous twilight love quotes from Breaking Dawn Part One. It's part of Edward's wedding speech when he says, "No measure of time with you will be long enough. But let's start with forever."

I designed this DIY Twilight quote decor using Canva Pro. With Canva Pro, you don't even have to have a background in graphic design to create beautiful designs! You get access to thousands of professional images, elements, and fonts, plus the ability to upload your own fonts and save your own brand color palattes!

After getting the design just right, I printed it out, got a frame from the Dollar Tree, and used the same method I used when I made my DIY Halloween Wall Decor With Canva. I just used a glass maker to trace it onto the glass!

Bernie's mittens have already become one of the biggest highlights of 2021. We even had a rare snow day here in North Carolina last week and these mittens kept my hands nice and toasty as I played with my dog in the snow.

I don't know about you, but I've started to see the evil eye everywhere. I've seen it in clothes, jewelry, and even home decor! So when I started working on my new granny square tank tops, I just knew that the granny square pattern I was using would be the perfect way to incorporate the evil eye into a new crochet project. If you've never heard of the evil eye before, I'll give you a quick introduction. Even though evil is in it's name, it's really not that evil! In fact, it's a good thing! The evil eye is actually supposed to protect its owner from curses.

The evil eye curse dates back to ancient Sumeria where people believed that you could curse yourself, as well as others, by envying them and what they have, even if you didn't mean it. And the evil eye curse is still prevalent in many cultures today. The evil eye talisman, also known as a nazar in Turkey, helps ward off and deflect these unintentional curses.

These evil eyes can usually be found with a black or navy pupil, a light blue iris, a white eyeball, and a royal blue exterior. However, the exterior of the evil eye can be found in a variety of different colors, each one meaning something different. Now! On to the good stuff! This evil eye granny square pattern is super easy and very quick to work up. It would be great in a blanket, in a granny square tank top, and even as a wall hanging! I think in total, this wall hanging didn't even take me an hour to whip up.

You don't have to turn this granny square into a wall hanging but if you want to, the process is very simple. All you need is a short dowel rod. The one I used is 5/16" and I cut it down to approximately 9.25 inches long.

​Once your evil eye granny square is complete, all you need to do is cut a long tail and use a tapestry needle to weave the tail over the dowel rod using a mattress stitch, much like you would join granny squares in a blanket. Then, use the remaining length of the tail to hang it! Another great option would be to add tassels at the bottom!

Naughty Valentine's Day Ideas: Wooooooo! I stumbled into a part of Etsy that I didn't know existed! There were soooo many good naughty Valentine's Day gifts, that I just had to list more than one. They kept me cracking up! First off, there are a ton of naughty Valentine's Day cards to choose from, including some customizable naughty scratch-off cards. You could also choose from a wide variety of custom underwear where you can put your name and/or face (go big or go home ?) on your partner's naughty bits.

Perhaps my favorite one yet has been this wine label and card set set that says "I love you with my whole butt. It's bigger than my heart." In comparison to all the naughty gifts on Etsy, this one seems pretty tame. But it is so worth a mention because I wholeheartedly (or should I say wholebuttedly ?) relate to this.

Crochet Dessert Donut and Cupcake Potholders: Ok, so, this one may be a little self-serving, but I think they make for great Valentine's Day gifts! (Even if I am biased ?). My crocheted dessert potholders are super cute and perfect for anyone who has a constant sweet tooth like I do. Plus, with their pink frosting, they look pretty on-theme for Valentine's Day! I will have plenty of these ready to go for the Tarboro Valentine's Market on February 1st starting at 10 a.m.

I didn't think think October would ever get here! Between my wedding anniversary, the cool weather, and, of course, Halloween, this is my favorite time of year and it seemed like it took forever to get here. But now that it is here, I have been going all out! I've been selling at the Tarboro Market, planning a Halloween party, and, most importantly, crafting!

​If you know me, you know there's nothing I love more than a long walk down the Halloween aisle in any store. Last year, I noticed that there were several pieces of Halloween wall art that was printed on clear glass and after creating my own wedding sign on an old window pane, I figured out how to get the same effect by hand!

It's really as simple as tracing. That's right! We're going to take it back to elementary school and trace a design on a picture frame. And to get the design we are going to trace, we are going to use Canva Pro.

DIY Halloween Wall Art with Canva Instructions
1. Create 4 text boxes that say "Home" "Sweet" "Haunted" and another "Home".2. Change the font for both "home" text boxes to Playfair Display, the font for "Sweet" to Satisfy, and the font for "Haunted" to Creepster.

3. Change the size of all 4 text boxes to 120.

4. Put the text boxes in the correct order. Overlap them when necessary so that there are no large gaps in between the words.

5. Center the text boxes. Group them together if that helps and drag the group upwards until the margin numbers pop up and read "73, 75".

6. Navigate to the "Elements" category on the left hand tool bar and search for "gray ghost".

7. Select the first graphic from the search results and drag it to the printable.

8. Drag the corner of the graphic to make it small enough to fit under all of the text then center it.

9. Edit the colors so that the body of the ghost is black and the eyes are white.

10. Print!

Here, you can leave your printable as-is and just frame it and hang it for a cute new piece of Halloween Wall Art. But, if you want to take it a step further and make your DIY Halloween Wall Decor on glass, follow the rest of the steps below!

Ah! September 1. Fall is right around the corner and it's officially Spooky Season in my house! That means my house is littered with pumpkins and fall leaves and I am knee deep in yarn working on all my favorite crocheted fall goodies! In honor of the approaching fall season, I thought that I would share my crochet patterns for all my fall motifs.

I have fall motif patterns for a mini pumpkin, candy corn, and fall leaves. Usually, I sew them onto projects like my fall cup cozies. However, I think they would look very cute on a garland and strung up on a mantle!

The patterns for these fall motifs are super easy and very beginner friendly. All you need to worsted weight yarn in appropriate colors (Red Heart Yarn in "Carrot" is my favorite pumpkin color) and an H hook. I have these motifs down to a science and I can make 5 pumpkin motifs in under 30 minutes, which is super great when I'm working on making a bunch of things for fall markets!

Summer isn't complete without a thrift flip so guess what I have in store for you today! :) My latest thrift flip is one of my favorites! This time, I turned a maxi skirt into a romper! Not only did this thrift flip turn out to be super cute, but it was super easy, too! Keep reading to see the simple way I turned a maxi skirt into a strapless romper!

After trying it on and pinning it, I took it off and began cutting. I cut all the way up the front and the back separately, leaving the pins in the crotch. From here, I turned it inside out, pinned up the legs, and then took it to the sewing machine to sew it up.

I didn't do anything extra when sewing up the crotch. I just sewed up one leg, then pivoted the romper on the needle when I got up to the crotch and continued down the other leg. And then, guess what?

I WAS DONE! That's literally all it took to turn a maxi skirt into a romper. I turned it right side out and tried it on, and I was good to go! I cannot be more clear about how easy this thrift flip was. I think, maybe, it took an hour total, if that! And for only costing me $5, this thrift flip is a no brainer!

​I'm all for being eco-friendly. That's why when I found my dog, Jasper, started chewing the straps off of my flip flops, I knew I didn't want to throw them away. Thankfully, I had a great a idea for reusing them: crochet sandals! Crocheting these cute sandals out of this old pair of flips flops was actually pretty easy once I got going. This project only takes a few hours to whip up and will leave your feel looking stylish for the rest of summer!

To crochet these sandals, start by removing the straps.  You will need to use the skewer to poke holes around the toe and heel of each shoe to be able to crochet around what will become the sole of your crochet shoe. To poke the holes correctly, start by going in through the side of the shoe and poking it through the top of the shoe, at an angle. (See pictures below.)

As you begin crocheting into the holes you create, go very slowly. The holes will easily rip if you go too fast. No worries, though! If you do rip a hole, do your best to correct it by creating a new one right next to it, or skipping it completely and adding another one on to the end. Don't worry about the foundation row being pretty or not as long as it is sturdy. From here, crochet the rest of the shoe is easy peasy!

Crochet Sandals Pattern

TOE
Start by poking 22 holes apprx. 1/2 inch apart around the toe of your flip flop. You may need more or less, depending on the size of your shoe. Use your best judgement as you go. Do an even number on each side of the flip flop. Attach your yarn with a sc to the first hole on the right side of the flip flop.
1. Sc into every hole around, turn (22)
2. Ch. 1, sc in every st around (22) [make sure to sc in the first sc used to attach the yarn to the flip flop]
3-5. Repeat row 2
6. Ch. 1, sc in the next 9 st, 2 dc dec in the next 4 st, sc in next 9 st, turn (20)
7. Ch. 1, sc in the next 8 st, 2 dc dec in the next 4 st, sc in next 8 st, turn (18)
8. Ch. 1, sc in the next 7 st, 2 dc dec in the next 4 st, sc in next 7 st, turn (16)
9.Ch. 1, sc in the next 6 st, 2 dc dec in the next 4 st, sc in next 6 st, turn (14)

Poke 17 holes apprx. 1/2 inch apart around the bottom of the flip flop. You may need more or less, depending on the size of your shoe. Use your best judgement as you go. Do an even number on each side of the flip flop. Attach your yarn with a sc to the first hole on the right side of the flip flop.
1. Sc into each st around, turn (17)
2. Ch. 1,  sc in each st across, turn (17)
3. Repeat row 2
4. Ch. 1, sc dec in next 2 st, sc in next 13 st, sc dec in next 2 st, turn (15)
