It has been a while since I have been able to sit down and work on Beanies and Weenies. With the end of the semester, finals, and graduation, I have been super busy. But now that the end is near, my free time has thankfully grown. Now I get to dedicate more of my time to this wonderful business venture. Over the past month, Beanies and Weenies has grown. I have been processing my first custom order on Etsy! That is huge milestone for me and I am very proud to be sending off that package this week! Also, I have created a personal Fiverr account where you can find me under the name jennilouhoo. There, I am selling small online services like proofreading/editing papers, writing reviews, and writing customized stories all starting at $5. Feel free to check it out!
While my small little business is growing, there are more things I am having to figure out. My online presence is still small. I am reaching more and more people with every post, but I only have a small number of views and those aren't leading to great sales. I am doing my best to use every social media outlet possible, but I am horrible at getting followers. Beanies and Weenies has a facebook, twitter, instagram, tumblr, and pinterest. Even my personal accounts suck. I use tags as often as I can, but other than that, I am clueless as how to spread the word about Beanies and Weenies. Here, online, I try tagging the website, webpages, and even the pictures, but search engine optimization is not my specialty either. I have tried dozens of times to get Google AdSense approved, but I fail every time. My goal for the end of summer is to finally master social media and search engines and finally have my website AdSense approved. If there is anyone out there who has advice, I am all ears. I feel that I could make a better profit if I could grow my social media presence. Reaching more people would mean better sales, and that is my other goal for the end of summer. With moving off to college right around the corner, it is more important now than ever to get a hang of online marketing. So far, working on Beanies and Weenies has been fun. It has been a way for me to turn my hobbies into a profit as well as a learning experience. I am learning more about online sales, marketing, and SEO than in my introduction to business class. Hopefully, this summer will provide me with plenty of time to learn even more.
