The only two things you need to make chocolate covered strawberries is, you guessed it, chocolate and strawberries. I typically use a bag of semi sweet chocolate chips, but you can use whatever chocolate you like best, whether it be a chocolate bar or the bakers chocolate you find on the baking aisle.

I typically make this recipe using 2 lbs of strawberries and 1 bag of semisweet chocolate chips. The last time that I used this recipe, I made 39 chocolate covered strawberries, but your end result may be different depending on how many strawberries fit in the container you bought.

All you have to do to make this recipe is melt the chocolate and dip the strawberries. That's it! Super simple right? The one thing you need to keep in mind is not burning or over cooking your chocolate. I put my chocolate chips in a microwave save container for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each 30 second spurts. I found the more I microwave the chocolate, the thicker and harder to work with it became.

Besides that, these chocolate covered strawberries are so easy to make! If you make your own chocolate covered strawberries this Valentine's Day, make sure to let me know how they turn out.

Read below for the full easy chocolate covered strawberries recipe!
This recipe makes approximately 38 chocolate covered strawberries.

Ingredients
  • 1 bag of semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 lbs of strawberries

Steps:
  1. Wash your strawberries.
  2. Prepare a baking sheet by placing a sheet of wax paper on it.
  3. Once the strawberries are dry, melt your chocolate in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds at a time until the chocolate is completed melted (approx. 3-4 times). Make sure to stir the chocolate each time you take it out of the microwave.
  4. Grab a strawberry by the leaves on top and dip it straight into the melted chocolate. When it is mostly covered, remove the strawberry and lay it on the wax paper.
  5. Continue this process until all strawberries are covered in chocolate.
  6. Place the baking sheet with the strawberries on it in the fridge to cool and harden the chocolate (approx. 1 hour).
  7. Enjoy!
