Summer may be close to being over (thank God), but there is still plenty of time left to make those yummy summer desserts. I'm talking smores, banana splits, and, my new favorite, grilled peaches. This summer, after inquiring a whole bunch of peaches on a trip to the North Carolina Farmer's Market, I made it my mission to finally try this summer staple. What resulted was my new grilled peaches recipe with brown sugar.
I loved everything about this summer dessert! After we cut them in half and removed the pits, we basted them in melted butter as we put them on the grill. We grilled them a few minutes on each side until we saw grill marks and when we took them off, we sprinkled them (liberally) with brown sugar and cinnamon.
The brown sugar and cinnamon melted on the hot peaches and created this glaze that was to die for! They were sweet and juicy and just the summer dessert you want on a hot day. To me, the grilled peaches tasted like peach cobbler but without all the breading. I highly recommend adding a scoop (or two) of vanilla ice cream on top. My favorite thing about this grilled peaches recipe is that you can make it any way you want to! I think after coating the peaches with brown sugar and cinnamon several times, we ending up using several tablespoons worth. But, if you're not a big fan of things being so sweet, you don't even have to use any brown sugar! This summer dessert is another classic staple to add to the list next time you go camping or just want a sweet treat in your own back yard. Ingredients:
