As I mentioned in a previous blog post on how to make your own lattes at home, I love me a good latte. I found a great way to step up my homemade latte game with the use of homemade flavored coffee syrups.
Sure, you could just buy the Torani coffee syrups that coffee houses use on Amazon, but I'm always trying to challenge myself. Plus, I love so many flavors, it would cost me a fortune to stock up on enough flavors to satisfy my whims. Keep reading to learn my recipe for homemade flavored coffee syrups!
I thought that making my own flavored coffee syrups at home would be a rough process, but it turned out to be pretty easy! I spend a lot of time this holiday season slurping down coffee and lattes, so I was able to perfect my recipe.
You really only need three ingredients to make homemade flavored coffee syrups: your favorite extract, sugar, and water. The possibilities of flavored coffee syrups are endless! If you have an extract, you can turn it into a syrup. You can use Vanilla, Almond, Peppermint, or any one you want! In my recipe for flavored coffee syrups, I'm going to focus on vanilla and almond.
This recipe doesn't even dive into the endless possibilities of spices and sauces. Now that I have these easy flavored coffee syrups down pat, I plan on mixing things up and working with cinnamon, chocolate sauce, and maybe even maple syrup!
To make these easy homemade flavored coffee syrups, all you have to do is combine the ingredients and bring them to a boil! It is important to keep stirring until the sugar dissolves because it could burn and ruin the coffee syrup if you don't.
After your syrup has boiled for one minute, take it off the burner and let it cool. Store it in a jar or bottle until you are ready to make a yummy homemade latte!
It's that easy, I promise!
Let me know what flavor combinations you can come up with! I'd love to try them!
